Later on, PIAF can be used to access graphical information in almost all subject areas, particularly Mathematics and Science.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Orientation and Mobility<\/strong><br \/>\nPIAF can produce high-quality maps of the local area for orientation and mobility exercises, or maps and floor plans of schools for students or staff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Employment<\/strong><br \/>\nWith PIAF, blind or low-vision workers can access relevant visual information, such as graphs, diagrams, tables and more. One or two diagrams can replace thousands of words of textual explanation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Home<\/strong><br \/>\nPIAF can be used to make a chessboard accessible, create images to distinguish between a giraffe and a leopard, and explore geographical maps to identify continents, countries and cities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PIAF produces high-quality images using heat-sensitive microcapsule paper. The heat generated by PIAF causes the paper to swell in the areas where ink is present. This makes it possible to reproduce text, images, graphics, diagrams and other tactile information.
