These are worrying figures, and they should alert us to the need to protect our ears from noise. In a highly technological world, there are countless noise sources: traffic, amplified music, construction work, and many others.

Vibrating and flashing alarms offer greater safety in emergency situations, as a deaf person or someone with hearing loss may not be able to hear an audible alarm .
